Review:
In 1938, a pilot and his engineer trying to compete in the nationals find a jetpack that a robber left behind. Naturally, that leads to the pilot becoming a comic book hero. Coincidentally, this film is based on a comic book. It’s a fairly entertaining albeit ridiculous story that makes for some nice entertainment, especially thanks to the always glorious Timothy Dalton in the main role. Sadly, the ridiculousness gets a bit much towards the end, but if you are willing to not think about it too much, you will enjoy the film.

Review:
A faux psychic and her con man boyfriend find what seems like an easy target in an elderly woman looking for the long lost son of her sister. But who would have guessed that looking for him could be so dangerous? And more importantly, who could have guessed that the jewellery thief in the story interwoven with this is said son? The film, Alfred Hitchcock’s last, is an interesting combination between thriller and comedy, with some suspenseful and some funny scenes, that suffers greatly from glaring plot holes throughout and a leading lady that is so annoying that any sane person would wish her to die.

Family Plot at the IMDb
You know what happens when I write these reviews a week after I’ve seen the film? I can’t remember anything apart from the premise and whether I liked the film or not.
Although this is Hitchcock’s last film, if you want to get into the master of suspense’s body of work, I would not recommend seeing this last. It might leave you with the wrong impression. Always go out on a high note, and if you like comedies, that is The Trouble with Harry.
